The General Public is unique board because it can work for such a large range of riders. The two most common rider types we recommend this board for is either the established park/street rider looking for a poppy yet forgiving board or the first time buyer who wants versitility as they explore different styles of riding all over the mountain. 

Technical Features

Twin shape

Both the nose and tail are mirrored from the center of the board in both shape and flex. A true twin allows you to experience the same ride in either direction. Ideal for freestyle minded riding and perfect for anyone, beginners included, to dial in riding switch for all mountain dominance.

Alert Camber

The response of camber with the added ease of rocker. The camber between the feet keeps your contact points on the ground allowing for better edge hold. Compressing the camber will accentuate the rocker by lifting the contact points allowing a more catch free turn and better float in the powder.

Flex Rating

The General Public is right down the middle as far as flex goes. Soft enough to butter and press, yet stiff enough to pop you off the lip or flat ground.

Radial Sidecut

The simplest of all sidecuts using one single radius for predictable turns and performance for any style of rider. Radial sidecuts have the advantage of making turns feel the same whether you are going forward or riding switch, making it ideal for freestyle riders or beginners.

Sintered Base

Rather than melting polyethylene pellets together (extrusion), sintered bases are manufactured by crushing the pellets together under high pressure. This makes a sintered base more porous for maximum wax absorption, and more abrasion-resistant. In other words it makes the board faster and more durable!

Poplar core

Poplar is the most common type of wood used in snowboard cores for its unbeatable strength to weight ratio and is why Public makes the majority of their boards with this core.

Biax Fiberglass

All PUBLIC Snowboards are made using Biax fiberglass. Biax fiberglass creates a consistent and smooth flexing snowboard tip to tail while allowing the board to stay nimble and predictable.

Urethane sidewalls

Urethane sidewalls are used in all PUBLIC boards for their superior dampening properties compared to the industry standard ABS and P-tex sidewalls. Urethane sidewalls are more durable against impact on rocks or rails to prevent your board from delaminating when you get caught slippin’ in the park or backcountry.
