Nidecker isn’t the most well known brand in North America, but they have been building some of the best boards in the world for a long time now. Based in Switzerland, Nidecker has been a leader in snowboard design and construction in Europe. So much so that brands like Jones and YES. partnered with them when striking out on their own. The Escape has been one the more popular directional men’s boards on our wall here at Berg’s the last few years and for good reason. A mid-flex, mild setback stance, multi-species wood core, a little carbon, and a fast based all in a directional package make this a versatile all-mountain board that carves great and is fun in the powder. And you get all that at a price that others just can’t compete with.

Technical Features

Directional w/ 2mm Taper

Directional boards allow for a less fatiguing ride through deeper snow and with the addition of taper (2mm in this case), creates a unique turning feel. Initiate with the front foot, center your weight through the middle of the turn, and shift to the back foot to drive out of the apex. A truly versatily shape and style that will still ride switch just fine

Standard Camrock

The response of camber with the float of rocker. Camber between the feet keeping your contact points on the ground allowing for better edge hold. Compressing the camber will accentuate the rocker by lifting the contact points allowing a more catch free turn and better float in the Pow.

Flex Rating

Just on the stiffer side of medium, the Escape is a super approachable board to get you off the runs and in the powder. A catch-free feel with its camrock profile lends itself to a more playful and friendly ride.

The combination of the camrock profile and medium flex, the Escape is the perfect approachable board for those looking to progress off piste without needing to get something that is super demanding. It also makes a great versatile cruiser board that will still lay out a carve when the mood strikes.

N-7000 Sintruded Base

Developed exclusively for Nidecker, the N-7000 is an extremely tough, sintruded base with added carbon nanoparticles that provide exceptional glide.

Master Core

The Master Core construction is a product of Nicecker's long history of experimentation in materials and woodcraft. It's the perfect harmony of different wood densities and varieties (poplar, beech, spruce, and paulownia), resulting in a superior weight-to-performance-to power ratio, and an ultra-strong, extra-responsive, lightweight core.

Triax Plus Glass 

The Triax laminate is oriented at 45° to the board, and contains different glass densities. This provides consistent torsional flex, better pop, and more reactivity on every turn.

Pop Carbon

Strategic placement of carbon fiber from the tail to the rear inserts, and from the nose to the front inserts, resulting in a more reactive board, with increased pop and stiffness. The vibration dampening qualities make it ideal for more aggressive riding in all conditions.

Absorbnid

An innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. Enjoy a smooth ride with less fatigue.

Premium Sandwich Construction
