Marko “Grilo” Grilic may not be a name in snowboarding that you are familiar with, but Burton thinks it should be and so do we. The Family Tree series is where Burton plays with new ideas with the goal of constant improvement. Some ideas stand the test of time like the Flight Attendant(hopefully the Hometown Hero) and some don’t. We’re not sure where the Gril Master will land, but we sure do hope it lasts for a long time to come. Built to be an all-mountain dynamo that slays the pow, this board meets those goals, but to our surprise it also digs trenches with the best of them. The Gril Master is stable at speed and through the chop as well. Honestly, we can’t say enough good things about this board and is one of the few across all brands we are truly pumped for. Got more questions? Just ask, we are here to help.
The Channel® mounting system gives you the easiest, most adjustable setup with bindings from all major brands (not just Burton's).
I got the chance to demo this board last spring and was fell in love in less then one run. When we got to the bottom I believe my exact words to my coworker were “Now that’s how a snowboard should ride!” Not that I need another snowboard, but I handed the board back to my rep and told him to add one to the order. Now my style may not be yours, but I do vouch for the Gril Master. If you want to know more just ask. -Clifford

Directional Camber - A Camber Bend advocates powerful turns and poppy precision, offering snappy suspension with weight distributed evenly across the entire board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail. Entry rocker causes the nose to lift while camber under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deep-driving turns and variable conditions. The perfect mix for ripping turns in the pow and digging trenches on the groomers. Balanced Freeride Geometry - Setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck. Sintered WFO Base - WFO Base infuses specially formulated wax deep into the pores of the extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material, making it ultra-fast and ultra-durable for riding all season in any condition. Super Fly II™ 700G Core - A FSC™ Certified dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and alternates between hard and soft woods to reduce overall weight without limiting performance. Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Dualzone™ EGD™ - Engineered wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge-hold, response, and strength. Squeezebox – A core profiling that progressively mills out the core between the bindings, allowing for increased flex where you want it and stability where you need it. Pro-Tip – A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility. Triax™ w/ 45° Carbon Highlights - The glass strands are weaved together in three directions at 45°, 45°, and 0°. This allows for a softer flexing board for presses while maintaining strength, pop, and response needed for everything from mini to mega shred. Carbon Highlights optimizes each layer of the fiberglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. Super Sap® Epoxy - Epoxies and resins are often petroleum-based, which is why Burton partnered with Entropy Resins on Super Sap®, a resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduce its carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum based epoxies. Infinite Ride - A special machine that allows Burton to overbuild their boards and then break them in so that they ride the same on the 100th day as they did on the first day out of the wrapper.
