A surf inspired shape for all-mountain carving and pow slashing, that is the Jones Mind Expander in a nutshell. There are a lot of reviews and information out there about this board, so we’ll keep it simple. Carving on a snowboard and surfing have a lot in common so combing both makes a lot of sense. If you have ever seen a surf video then you know what a quick surf turn looks like and that is what slashing a turn on the Mind Expander feels like, nimble and agile. It is hard to explain just how fun it is to do this on natural features all over the mountain other than pure joy. A softer nose allows for a smoother roll into your carve, while a stiffer waist and tail provides better control through the turn and a stronger finish. Taper - Having a narrower tail than nose allows for the rear of the board to drop in powder which lifts the nose of the board above the fluff, reducing back leg fatigue on the best days of the season. This also allows for a tighter turn radius on a wider board, especially in narrow chutes and tight trees. V-Core - Re-designed triple density Bamboo Surf wood core that features primarily paulownia stringers with bamboo stringers positioned in the pocket of the sidecut for better edge response and turn power.

Basalt Stringers - Sustainable stringer made with 100% natural fibers. Basalt stringers improve torsional response and transfer power from under your feet to the tips of the board to eliminate nose and tail chatter.

Sintered 8000 Base - Premium base material made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and carbon. Base is highly wax absorbent, easy to repair and wicked fast. 3D Base Contour - This base shaping technology reduces drag, increases glide, flow, and float. This means higher speeds, improved fluidity during carves, and effortless float through powder, crud, or crusty snow. The 1.0 version offering 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and tail. Spoon bevel starts at the rocker point. Traction Tech 3.0 Edges - Traction Tech 3.0 features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding). The middle bump is slightly bigger than the outside bumps for better grip. Progressive Sidecut - The sidecut radius is incrementally increased from the center as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition. 2+1-Year Manufacture Warranty - Register your snowboard to unlock the third year of the warranty.
