Burton Photon Step On Snowboard Boots - Men's by Burton
Product Info
The Burton Photon is the best of the best. The go to boot for performance, fit, and comfort. Imprint 3 liner, EST® midsole, Vibram® traction and outsole, and Sequence BOA® lacing system all make this boot stand apart from the rest. But enough hype, here's why you may want to pay attention to the Photon. The first key aspect to the Photon is the Imprint 3 liner which has, you guessed it, 3 layers of foam in key areas. This allows for Burton to build the Imprint 3 with greater detail in the shape and contour of the liner. It also provides improved heat molding capabilities for superior custom fit. We do recommend that you have this done by a boot fitter if needed, but we do find that this liner will mold exceptionally well on its own as you break it in naturally. The Imprint 3 liner has the narrowest heel pocket for those who can never seem to eliminate heel lift. The Step On® boot-to-binding system uses three points of connection, the main one at the heel and two by the toes utilizing Toe Hooks 2.0 that feature a spring hinge that flexes to maintain closure and provide an easy entrance and exit. and one connection point by the heel for increased boot and binding response.

Medium-flexing boots allow for more control, which provides a more precise feel. Welded Backstay increases support and durability, 1:1 Firm Flex PowerUp tongue creates a snug fit between boot and tongue, eliminating the need to readjust while you ride.
Sequence BOA® w/ Coiler
Sequence BOA® Fit System features two unique lace paths for a fit that snugs evenly from top to bottom with the simple twist of a dial.
Imprint™ 3 Liner
Focus cuff boosts heel hold by hugging the ankle, riding slightly higher for increased response. Imprint 3 liner has a hook-and-loop closure system with an inner lace lock for a snug fit and lightweight power panels for added response.
Cushioning
Total Comfort Construction with a wider fit provides an instantly broken-in feel right out of the box, eliminating the break-in period, Snow-proof internal gusset completely seals the lower zone of the boot, keeping your feet warm and dry. Sleeping bag reflective foil underfoot reflects heat back to the foot, improving both warmth and comfort in cold conditions, AutoCANT Cushioning uses dual-density EVA that lets your foot settle into a natural, relaxed position for improved comfort, reduced fatigue, and more direct board control, ReBounce brings cushioning closer to your foot by placing it within the shell of the boot for an added layer of impact protection sitting directly beneath your foot.
StepOn® Outsole
Step On® outsole features toe cleats in the forefoot that securely fasten into the binding, EST® optimized midsole lowers your center of gravity and improves board feel without sacrificing comfort, Shrinkage footbed reduction technology reduces the boot's overall footprint, minimizing toe drag. Vibram® Traction Lug outsole with EcoStep™ rubber provides increased surface area for more contact points that grip the ground in a lighter weight package that uses 30% recycled rubber content.
Fitting Your Boots
– To properly assess the fit of any boot you must lace or buckle it completely. The boot will feel small until you do this because your toes will be pushed to the front until laced or buckled. Also, keep in mind all boot liners stretch out and get bigger.
– First, lace or buckle the boot loosely. Next, flex into the boot to drive your heel into the heel pocket. Doing this makes room for your toes. Lastly, finish lacing or buckling the boot in a flexed position.
– Be sure to wear the boots for at least 10 minutes fully laced or buckled before making a determination. Remember these boots are not made for walking, keep your knees slightly bent and flexed forward into riding position. When doing this your heels should be pushed into the back of the boot and your toes should be comfortable.
– You should wear the thinnest sock you are comfortable with. Blood flow is the number one thing that keeps your feet warm. Adding more material around your feet with thicker socks increases the chances of reducing blood flow.
– To help your foot sit properly in your boot, you may consider an aftermarket footbed like Superfeet® or Sidas®. A footbed with arch support, not just cushion, helps align your foot in the shell and alleviates pressure points. Footbeds should be sized to your arch height and length, not your shoe size.
– Spend some time choosing your boots, they are the most important piece of your gear!
