The Smith Mirage Mips is packed to the gills with features without any of the fluff. Built with a hybrid construction shell for durability and weight savings. Built in fully adjustable venting for any kind of weather on the mountain. Ear pads are removable and compatible with in helmet audio. Soft liner and fully adjustable dial fit system for all day comfort. Loaded with Smiths Zonal Koroyd Acts like a crumple zone on a car to greatly reduce force transfer in an impact. The Mirage is also fully outfitted with Mips (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) technology for increased safety in certain rotational impacts.

Technical Features

Koroyd®

Koroyd® provides superior impact absorption, design flexibility, and ventilation when compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction. By utilizing crumple-zone cylinders that crush uniformly on impact, Koroyd® manages energy more efficiently with less volume than any other protection material on the market. Unlike traditional protection materials, Koroyd® cylinders absorb and convert more kinetic energy, while increasing airflow and reducing overall weight. Not all helmets are created equal.

MIPS® Equipped

MIPS® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) Designed to add protection against rotational motion transferred to the brain. Rotational motion affects the brain and increase the risk for minor and severe brain injuries. When implemented in a helmet, the MIPS® BPS can reduce rotational motion by redirecting energies and forces otherwise transferred to the brain.

AirEvac™

Goggles fog when standard helmets trap warm, moist air in the goggle chamber. Smith’s AirEvac ventilation systems generate maximum airflow and pull warm, fog-causing air out of the goggle. The warm air is allowed to exhaust out of the top of the goggle and begin its path through the helmet’s AirEvac system.
