The T.Rice Golden Orca is Travis’ ultimate trick stick. Developed for the Natural Selection Tour, Travis has juiced up this Jackson Hole resort slasher into a more freestyle friendly version of his two other pro-model boards (T. Rice Pro & Orca). Its hybrid rocker/camber profile makes it perfect for shredding powder and its shape allows for easy switch riding/landings. The combination of basalt and carbon in the core makes for added pop while still staying damp for when the resort gets chopped up. Go big or go home with the Golden Orca.

Technical Features

Directional w/ 9mm Taper

Directional shape is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while providing plenty of float in powder. A softer nose allows for a smoother roll into your carve, while a stiffer waist and tail provides better control through the turn and a stronger finish.

C2x Rocker

A hybrid camber/rocker profile with rocker between the feet and at the contact points with exaggerated camber directly under foot. This allows for easier float in the powder, presses in the park and ease of entry into your turns, while providing more response and edge hold at the feet.

Flex Rating

The Golden Orca is on the stiffer side, but no so stiff that it leaves you feeling like there’s a 2x4 underfoot. Thanks to the predominantly rocker profile, the board is still friendly for all day riding, but powerful enough to really get after it when you want/need.

Sintered Knife Cut Base

A high density sintered base like this one is ideal for the best glide over the snow. Its porous structure is optimal for wax retention while the high density is tough and smoother than other sintered bases. All this reduces friction to keep you sliding better and longer. Wax regularly and repair professionally.

Magne-Traction® Edges

Strategically located and sized edge serrations provide unreal edge hold and control in all conditions. Allowing you to lay down your edge confidently on the iciest days. 

Firepower [FP] Construction Core

An FSC certified extended 60% Aspen / 40% Paulownia wood core built to be light and tough with pop and power. The sidewalls are layered with internal end grain birch and the external is wrapped in UHMW polyethylene. The birch is there to improve edge hold and stability, while the UHMW polyethylene dampens vibration and protects from impacts. Uniquely Lib Tech also adds a healthy dose of UHMW polyethylene to the tip & tail for impact deflection. This makes repairs easier and significantly reduces the chance of damaging the core when the unfortunate happens. 

Tri-Ax  w/ Basalt Alloy & Carbon X

A combination of Tri-Ax glass & Basalt Alloy with Carbon X allows for flex where you want it, but stability, strength, and pop when you need it. Lib Tech's unique volcanic fiber derived from basalt features amazing strength and dampening properties allowing the creation of light, strong, and an amazingly smooth ride. The Carbon X adds even more liveliness and snap for those big drops and pops.
