Burton Free Thinker Snowboard - Men's by Burton
Product Info
One could describe the riding style of Danny Davis as powerful and energetic and that is how we would describe the Thinker series by Danny. Calling the Free Thinker stiff isn’t wrong, but it also is quite right. The more accurate way to describe this board is poppy and snappy. This board likes to be pushed and will give back exactly what you put into it. A slightly narrower waist and a tight turn radius make this board extremely nibble and maneuverable. A true twin with traditional camber this board is built for getting after it either in the park or taking groomer laps. The traditional full camber is ideal for pop when taking off and stability for stomping when coming back down, as well as superior edge-hold without needing any extra fancy tech. The Burton Free Thinker has a very specific personality and isn’t for everyone. We don’t recommend it for the mellow cruisers, but if you are looking to ramp things up, then it might just be for you.
The Channel® mounting system gives you the easiest, most adjustable setup with bindings from all major brands (not just Burton's). A true twin allows you to experience the same ride in either direction. Ideal for freestyle minded riding and perfect for anyone, beginners included, to dial in riding switch for all mountain dominance. Camber - A Camber Bend advocates powerful turns and poppy precision, offering snappy suspension with weight distributed evenly across the entire board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail. Balanced Freeride Geometry - Setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck. Sintered WFO Base - WFO Base infuses specially formulated wax deep into the pores of the extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material, making it ultra-fast and ultra-durable for riding all season in any condition. Super Fly II™ 700G Core - A FSC™ Certified dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and alternates between hard and soft woods to reduce overall weight without limiting performance. Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Dualzone™ EGD™ - Engineered wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge-hold, response, and strength. Squeezebox – A core profiling that progressively mills out the core between the bindings, allowing for increased flex where you want it and stability where you need it. Frostbite Edges - Frostbite extends your edges out slightly beneath your bindings for extra edge hold on hard and icy conditions. Less grabby then other traction features from other brands, Frostbite works when you need it and doesn't trip you up when you don't need it. Pro-Tip – A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility. Triax™ w/ 45° Carbon Highlights - The glass strands are weaved together in three directions at 45°, 45°, and 0°. This allows for a softer flexing board for presses while maintaining strength, pop, and response needed for everything from mini to mega shred. Carbon Highlights optimizes each layer of the fiberglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. Super Sap® Epoxy - Epoxies and resins are often petroleum-based, which is why Burton partnered with Entropy Resins on Super Sap®, a resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduce its carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum based epoxies. Infinite Ride - A special machine that allows Burton to overbuild their boards and then break them in so that they ride the same on the 100th day as they did on the first day out of the wrapper.
