The Family Tree series is where Burton plays with new ideas with the goal of constant improvement. Some ideas stand the test of time like the Flight Attendant(hopefully the Hometown Hero) and some don’t. We’re not sure where the Power Wagon will land, but we will enjoy it while we can. Developed with Burton Ambassadors around the world to not only hold up to any terrain anywhere you might find yourself, but to dominate that terrain, looking while you do it is up to you. As the name should imply, this board has got some power behind it. Damper than the its counterpart the Gril Master, the Power Wagon is one of the most stable boards in Burton's lineup and it will plow through the chunder like a champ. If you like to dig trenches on the groomers and bomb through everything without worrying if your board will get you through it, then the Power Wagon may be just what you are looking for.
The Channel® mounting system gives you the easiest, most adjustable setup with bindings from all major brands (not just Burton's).
I got the chance to demo this board last spring and wasn’t sure what to expect. I love a good spring groomer day to lay over carves and dig trenches and this board did not disappoint. I really like how the smaller taper keeps your tail locked in for greater power when exiting the turn, it just feels right. I guess that’s the best thing I can say about this board. -Clifford
FEATURES • Directional w/ 5mm Taper • Directional Camber • 8/10 Flex • The Channel® • Balanced Freeride Geometry • Sintered WFO Base • Super Fly II™ 700G Core • Dualzone™ EGD™ • Squeezebox • Pro-Tip • Triax™ • Super Sap® Epoxy • Infinite Ride • 3-Year Manufacture Warranty TECHNICAL SPECS Directional w/ 5mm Taper - Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while providing plenty of float in powder and a smoother roll into your carve. 12mm taper makes for easy turning, providing the feel and focus of a directional board without anything holding you back from riding it like a twin. Directional Camber - A Camber Bend advocates powerful turns and poppy precision, offering snappy suspension with weight distributed evenly across the entire board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail. Entry rocker causes the nose to lift while camber under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deep-driving turns and variable conditions. The perfect mix for ripping turns in the pow and digging trenches on the groomers. Balanced Freeride Geometry - Setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck. Sintered WFO Base - WFO Base infuses specially formulated wax deep into the pores of the extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material, making it ultra-fast and ultra-durable for riding all season in any condition. Super Fly II™ 700G Core - A FSC™ Certified dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and alternates between hard and soft woods to reduce overall weight without limiting performance. Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Dualzone™ EGD™ - Engineered wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge-hold, response, and strength. Squeezebox – A core profiling that progressively mills out the core between the bindings, allowing for increased flex where you want it and stability where you need it. Pro-Tip – A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility. Triax™ - The glass strands are weaved together in three directions at 45°, 45°, and 0°. This allows for a softer flexing board for presses while maintaining strength, pop, and response needed for everything from mini to mega shred. Super Sap® Epoxy - Epoxies and resins are often petroleum-based, which is why Burton partnered with Entropy Resins on Super Sap®, a resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduce its carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum based epoxies. Infinite Ride - A special machine that allows Burton to overbuild their boards and then break them in so that they ride the same on the 100th day as they did on the first day out of the wrapper.
