Lib Tech T. Rice Pro Snowboard - Men's by Lib Tech
Product Info
If you haven't ridden a Horse Power Construction from Lib Tech, then you are missing out on some serious magic. The combination of snappiness and response combined with dampness is unparalleled in the snowboard world. At least, that's what we think here at Berg's. Though the T. Rice Pro has gone through a couple of iterations, the truth is not much has changed and for good reason. As Travis continues to design new shapes and constructions in the Lib Tech line he has pretty much left this board alone. You may think it's because it's his first pro model, but really it's because this board is well balanced for all-mountain freestyle inspired riding. Plus you don't fix what ain't broke. The rocker dominant hybrid profile has two camber bumps under foot, which help to keep more of your edge in contact with the snow while turning for extra hold, as well as add extra pop when releasing your turn and for your ollies.
The sintered base has a high density dual layer that is tough, durable, and high wax retention. To top things off the Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax fiberglass layup provides the pop and power you need to get off the ground, but the torsional flex you want to press, butter, and ride boxes and rails. And the true secret sauce is the Basalt Alloy. This is what truly makes the Horse Power Construction lively and damp, and yes we know that is a contradiction. Don't believe us, well I guess there's only one way to find out. So maybe it is time to get yourself a Horse Power board from Lib Tech and if you are still reading this then maybe the T. Rice Pro is the right board for you.
Staff Review: “I have had the chance to ride many boards over the years working in shops and the Horse Power Construction is still my favorite of all time. The snap and drive you get out of your turn is ideal whether you are digging trenches or boosting off the ground. It is very lively edge to edge as well. The surprising thing is how damp the ride is at the same time. You can find damper boards out there, but they will not have the snap and liveliness of Horse Power Construction.” -Clifford

True Twin
A true twin shape is exactly how it sounds. The board is mirrored from nose to tail with shape and flex. This allows for ultimate rideability in either direction. Whether you land a 180 or a 360, the board is sure to ride out the same way.
C2 Rocker
A hybrid camber/rocker profile with rocker between the feet and at the contact points with camber directly under foot. This allows for easier float in the powder, presses in the park and ease of entry into your turns, while providing more response and edge hold at the feet.
Skill Level
The intermediate+ or better rider looking for a powerful twin board to rule all the terrain the mountain has to throw at you.
Flex Rating
The T. Rice Pro is on the stiffer side, but no so stiff that it leaves you feeling like there’s a 2x4 underfoot. Thanks to the predominantly rocker profile, the board is still friendly for all day riding, but powerful enough to really get after it when you want/need.
Eco-Sublimated Sintered Base
A high density sintered base like this one is ideal for the best glide over the snow. Its porous structure is optimal for wax retention while the high density is tough and smoother than other sintered bases. All this reduces friction to keep you sliding better and longer. Wax regularly and repair professionally.
Magne-Traction® Edges
Strategically located and sized edge serrations provide unreal edge hold and control in all conditions. Allowing you to lay down your edge confidently on the iciest days.
Horsepower [HP] Construction Core
An FSC certified 60% Aspen / 40% Paulownia wood core built to be light and tough with pop and power. The sidewalls are layered with internal end grain birch and the external is wrapped in UHMW polyethylene. The birch is there to improve edge hold and stability, while the UHMW polyethylene dampens vibration and protects from impacts. Uniquely Lib Tech also adds a healthy dose of UHMW polyethylene to the tip & tail for impact deflection. This makes repairs easier and significantly reduces the chance of damaging the core when the unfortunate happens.
Tri-Ax / Bi-Ax Glass w/ Basalt
A combination of Tri-Ax and Bi-Ax glass allows for flex where you want it, but stability, strength, and pop when you need it. Lib Tech's unique volcanic fiber derived from basalt features amazing strength and dampening properties allowing the creation of light, strong, and an amazingly smooth ride.
