The Hovercraft 2.0 is a more than just a powder board, it is a carving machine on the groomers too. It lays out beautiful lines in the corduroy. And for those of you that are worried that they went and changed your precious Hovercraft with the new 2.0 version, there’s nothing to worry about. The Jones Hovercraft 2.0 is the same shape and design that you know and love. Jones just did what Jones does, found a more environmentally friendly way to make a snowboard. And to show that there is no need to worry how this changes things, Jones started with a long time staple the Hovercraft. Jones uses old retired snowboards and presses them together into a sort of "snowboard plywood." They then slice this through the midsection and layer it strategically into the core. This is hard to explain, but trust us it’s cool! Ultimately they found that the tensile strength of this new snowboard plywood was off the charts and reduces waste from the snowboard industry.

Technical Features

Directional w/ 17mm Taper

Directional tapered shapes lend themselves for a great carving feel and easy floatation in powder. The taper lends itself to not only dropping into the powder to raise the nose up, but also to rebound and slingshot you out of deep carves.

Directional CamRock

3D Contour Base 3.0 – Freeride focused 3D Contour Base featuring a 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0 - 7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts at the rocker point.

Flex Rating

The Hovercraft 2.0 is on the stiffer side which allows it to perform extremely well in hardpack and on the groomers. It is very responsive and floats like a dream in the powder.

Progressive Sidecut

At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Traction Tech 3.0 Edges

This edge technology adds multiple contact points throughout the board's edge keeping your board locked into the snow during fast carves and in icy/hardpack conditions.

Reclaimed Core

High performance poplar paulownia wood core featuring specially positioned embedded stringers made from reclaimed snowboards.

Sintered 8000 Base

This base is a combination of Ultra-High Molecular Polyethylene and Carbon making it ultra-fast and easy to repair.

Sustainable Flax Top

Flax fibers are used in place of a traditional topsheet and offer a damp ride that absorbs chatter at any speed. Flax uses less resin in the board layup which saves more weight and synthetic materials.

3D Bases Contour

This base shaping technology reduces drag, increases glide, flow, and float. This means higher speeds, improved fluidity during carves, and effortless float through powder, crud, or crusty snow. The 3.0 version offering 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and tail.
