Union divides all their adult bindings into two categories, All-Mountain and Freestyle, but don’t let this discourage you from either category. All bindings really are All-Mountain, but there are some features that are better suited to Freestyle riding. The Union Legacy is a perfect example of this grey area. The Mini Disk and Vaporlite construction in the baseplate both allow for better board flex underfoot which is ideal for freestyle riding, while the flexibility of the Forma Lab ankle strap allows the rider to bend, tweak, and press with ease, but none of these features are a drawback otherwise. For the All-Mountain rider you will find these features create a more comfortable fit and less vibration to the foot that causes foot fatigue. These features also make the Legacy a great powder binding for those looking for a more surfy experience. This also plays well for those who aren’t a hard charging speed demon and are looking for a more surfy experience on the groomers and who value comfort and fit.
