Product Info

Nidecker isn’t the most well known brand in North America, but they have been building some of the best snowboards in the world for a long time now. Based in Switzerland, Nidecker has been a leader in snowboard design and construction in Europe. So much so that brands like Jones, YES., and Slash partnered with them when striking out on their own. The Venus has been one the more popular women’s boards on our wall here at Berg’s the last few seasons as it has garnered industry attention and notoriety for good reason. A mid-flex, mild setback stance, multi-species wood core, a little carbon, and a fast based all in a directional package make this a versatile all-mountain board that carves the way a snowboard should carve and is fun in the powder to boot. And you get all that at a price that others just can’t compete with. It looks pretty sweet too.

Directional Shape

Directional shape is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop and power in the tail while providing plenty of float in powder. A softer nose allows for a smoother roll into your carve, while a stiffer waist to tail provides better control through the turn and a stronger finish.

Camrock

The response of camber with the float of rocker. Camber between the feet keeping your contact points on the ground allowing for better edge hold. Compressing the camber will accentuate the rocker by lifting the contact points allowing a more catch free turn and better float in the Pow.

Flex Rating

The flex of the Venus comes in right in the middle. Nidecker calls it a 6/10, but we think this is a touch high. Though the performance and capability come in a touch about average, the flex is more accessible so we rate it a 5/10 flex.

Skill Level

The Nidecker Venus is ideal for a solid intermediate rider. The Venus can be a great option for a beginner who is comfortable on the green runs and building their confidence on the blues.

N-5000 Base

The N-5000 is Nidecker’s universal base. It’s designed to absorb wax to retain it longer. Exceptionally durable, this base will take you anywhere.

Master Core

The Master Core construction is a product of Nicecker's long history of experimentation in materials and woodcraft. It's the perfect harmony of different wood densities and varieties (poplar, beech, spruce, and paulownia), resulting in a superior weight-to-performance-to power ratio, and an ultra-strong, extra-responsive, lightweight core.

Triax Plus Glass

The Triax laminate is oriented at 45° to the board, and contains different glass densities. This provides consistent torsional flex, better pop, and more reactivity on every turn.

Pop Carbon

Strategic placement of carbon fiber from the tail to the rear inserts, and from the nose to the front inserts, resulting in a more reactive board, with increased pop and stiffness. The vibration dampening qualities make it ideal for more aggressive riding in all conditions.

Absorbnid Topsheet

Absorbnid is an innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. This allows for a more responsive, dynamic board that will still give you a smooth and fatigue free ride.

Carving Machine

This deck is built on the direct roots of the Nidecker's carving lineage. Lay it out and feel the centrifugal force build.
