The Burton Hideaway is one of our favorite entry-level boards on our wall here at Berg's. Its smooth flex and Flat Top™ profile combined with the mild tapered directional shape and twin flex make it one of the most versatile options out there. This is ideal for the new snowboarder who is still learning how to ride, but also who is still wanting to explore different aspects of snowboarding like riding switch or bouncing around in the powder. The extruded base requires little maintenance and waxing which most beginners appreciate and the Channel® mounting system allow Burton to build the board thinner and lighter and it accepts bindings from all major brands, not just Burton.
FEATURES • Directional Shape w/ 5mm Taper • Flat Top™ • 3/10 Flex • The Channel® • Extruded Base • Super Fly® 800g Core • Dualzone™ EGD™ • Squeezebox Low • Biax™ Fiberglass • Super Sap® Epoxy • 3-Year Manufacture Warranty TECHNICAL SPECS Directional Shape w/ 5mm Taper - Directional shape is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while providing plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. 5mm Taper makes for easy turning, providing the feel and focus of a directional board without anything holding you back from riding it like a twin. Flat Top™ - A flat profile between the feet means stability, better balance, and continuous edge control. The tip and tail kick up with an early rise outside the feet for the catch-free, loose feeling you’d expect from rocker. Extruded Base - Durable and easy to repair with all the glide you needed to go have fun. Requires little in the way of maintenance, but the more you wax the better you will slide. Super Fly® 800g Core - A FSC™ Certified dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and alternates between hard and soft woods to reduce overall weight without limiting performance. Dualzone™ EGD™ - Engineered wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge-hold, response, and strength. Squeezebox Low – A core profiling that progressively mills out the core between the bindings, allowing for increased flex where you want it and stability where you need it. Biax™ Fiberglass - The glass strands are weaved together in two directions at 90 degrees to each other. In a snowboard, biaxial fiberglass delivers soft and consistent torsional and longitudinal flex that is smooth and buttery. Super Sap® Epoxy - Epoxies and resins are often petroleum-based, which is why Burton partnered with Entropy Resins on Super Sap®, a resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduce its carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum based epoxies.
