Description

Get ready for an entirely new skiing experience that will be like no other...

Combining the progressive powder-ski concept of rockered, tapered tips and tapered tails with traditional side-cut under foot, the Voile Drifter is stable and easy to ski in conditions ranging from the deepest powder to the most difficult wind slab. The traditional side-cut under foot allows you to carve with confidence on firm snow you might find on your way back to the lift or on the exit of a difficult ski tour. Add Voile s signature lightweight ski construction and you won t be afraid to put skins on these boards and take em' anywhere. It's all about an adventure and Voile understand adventure more than most!

Flat Deck
Voile officially endorses mounting our Flat Deck model skis with Telemark Bindings or Alpine Touring Bindings. Flat Deck skis have a robust mounting plate to retain both types of bindings.

4-Hole Inserts
Mount only Telmark Bindings to skis with 4-Hole Inserts, there is not a mounting plate for Alpine Touring Bindings.

Backcountry Magazine 2010 Gear Guide - Editors Choice (what they said below:)

What, No Mental-Health Inspired Name? Even if Voile is losing it, the Drifter could be the biggest thing to hit the backcountry this year. Literally. It's monstrous. "A devil in a blue dress" one tester said. " Floats like an iceberg, but slices and dices when necessary." The economically priced and USA-made Drifter's tip and tail are rockered and tapered for float, but traditional sidecut underfoot provides traction between faceshots. Testers preferred the aspen-cored Drifter in longer radius turns at higher speeds, but with plenty of slashability and smearability, it's a capable mount; "Whatever kind of turn you want to try," according to a Colorado tester. Another added, "There's not much this ski won't do." A third summed it up: "Effortless, surfy, fun and innovative."
